Sweaters have been popular season after season because they keep you cozy warm and are versatile – even the ugly ones. I say this with a smile, because I have a 26 year old “ugly sweater”, although unbeknownst to me until recently – more on that later. However, this Madewell sweater is so pretty.
The double knot ties on the bell sleeves really ramp up this otherwise ordinary crew neck sweater. I love the boxy design and it can easily be worn out (as shown), half or fully tucked into pants or skirts. This season you can’t go wrong with ruffles, bows or bells adorning the sleeves.
Rain or shine there are days when you just have to shoot and make the best of it. We went from sunshine to intermittent sprinkles to a torrential down pour, luckily that only lasted five minutes.
Can you believe this character behind me…
I seem to be on a casual kick lately, but with a swap of pants this outfit could easily go to work. It was the kind of day that called for jeans, sweater and a pair of suede slides. I added light blue earrings to bring some color to my face (gray tends to wash me out). Adding red lipstick also helps to perk up my look. I love these Old Navy Rockstar jeans, not only for the cute factor, but they are so comfortable and you seriously can’t beat the price.
So back to the “ugly sweater”… I have always loved this sweater and thought it beautiful. So much so that I’ve hung on to it for all these years. However, a web search for the designer led me to this exact sweater with the description ugly sweater”. I rolled that around in my head for a few minutes and decided I still love it. It’s still one of the craziest, prettiest cardigans I’ve ever owned. Stay tuned, National Ugly Sweater Day is on the third Friday in December. I’ll be there!
