Flannel Shirt & Floral Hoops

Flannel Shirt & Floral Hoops

Flannel shirts are much like “comfort food” except without the calories. They are yummy to touch and make us feel good all over. Unfortunately, I’ve kept this delightful shirt for “super” casual too often.  Since I love both flannel shirts and glitzy earrings, I decided to wear them together for a casual chic look.

This 525 America sweater is another oldie, but goodie.  I bought this from Copper Penney years ago and unfortunately cannot find anything like it.  I wore this outfit to dinner and a young lady told me she looooved my jacket.  I really appreciated hearing that.

Once again I’m sporting another pair of Old Navy Rockstar jeans.  I also love distressed jeans. Maybe as much for the look as how they make me feel a bit rebellious.  Unfortunately, years ago women my age didn’t really have the luxury to fly their freak flag the way we do.  I greatly admire women that are creative and do their own thing. It’s not easy to swim upstream.

Sometimes I build an entire outfit around one thing that has caught my interest.  Today it was these J Crew floral earrings.  For example, these floral earrings have green, blue, white and yellow giving me so many opportunities to wear them.

This look is easy to create.  If you don’t have a flannel shirt then any print would work.  Pair it with your jeans, booties and layer it with your favorite cardigan, jean jacket or bomber.  Most importantly, add some really fun glitzy earrings.  If you don’t have any, make sure to buy your first couple of pairs with the most predominant colors in your closet.
