We love visiting Chicago, especially when it’s our daughter’s birthday. Today was all about what she wanted to do. I knew this was going to entail a lot of walking, so warm casual comfort was a must.
First stop was breakfast at Marie-Jeanne Cafe one of her favorites. They have a delicious lamb sausage and avocado toast.
After our bellies were full we headed to Garfield Park Conservatory. Admission is free, but they suggest a donation of $5 per person. It’s amazing and totally worth a visit.
It was very cold in Chicago, so I paired this Zara oversized turtleneck with Madewell boyfriend jeans, Vans faux sherpa classic slip-on sneakers, fishnet socks, J Crew black dangles, Loewe bag and black long coat. I brought the longest, warmest coat I owned.
We came across a slide while we were tooling around the conservatory. My daughter dared me to slide down it and I took the dare. She decided to capture this on video. To take a peek click here.
Next stop was Logan Theater to see Lady Bird (and eat lots of popcorn). It’s hard not to snack at the theater and once you start it’s difficult to stop until all the popcorn is gone. We really enjoyed the vintage styling and atmosphere of this theater. After the show we headed home to change for dinner and meet up with Sydney and Eric at Lulu Cafe in Logan Square. The food is really good, they do a mean Roasted Chicken, and the company was fabulous.
It was a wonderful day spent in one of our favorite cities with our daughter. It just doesn’t get better than that!
