When visiting Chicago we stopped at one of my new favorite stores, Uniqlo. I was lucky to score these fantastic wide leg denim pants among other things. Since it was chilly in Charleston I paired them with this red Free People jacket, which is now eons old. Yet, one new trendy purchase can elevate the look of even your “almost retired” items.
A similar look could be created in many ways. You could swap out this jacket for a blazer or short cardigan sweater. Or, you could layer a tee with a higher neckline under a jacket if you want to take it to work. I pulled out jewelry hubby bought me years ago, so search your jewelry box for something you haven’t worn in a while. Chunky jewelry is hot again. I love these Nina bow mules, but a boot or flat would also look good.
Since I was keeping my jacket on, wearing it like a blazer, I layered an ivory silk camisole underneath. We were heading to dinner so I pushed up my sleeves so the dangles at the end would not get in the way. In the past I generally wore this as an overcoat. It’s fun to switch things up, as it gives you many more outfit choices.
This adorable red bag was a gift from my oldest daughter when she visited Italy in 2010. Technically it’s not old enough, but the design does resemble vintage. I’ve been watching The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime and this purse reminds me of something she might carry.
What about that pink dress in the window – Cinderella?
