Feeling Respectable

Feeling Respectable: Ralph Lauren Blazer & Zara Trousers

Thankfully the days of mirroring men’s attire for the workplace are gone. However, If I have a business meeting I still like to dress for the occasion. That includes a mix of classic styles and fabulous colors with a feminine touch. I call this my new power suit – and it suits me just fine.

Feeling Respectable

Everything I’m wearing has been on repeat numerous times, which tells me they were good purchases.  For my power look I paired this Ralph Lauren blazer, Anthropologie silk blouse, Zara trousers, Nina kitten pumps, BaubleBar earrings, Chloe bag and Kate Spade sunnies.  I feel like a million bucks and ready to tackle the task at hand.

This is my negotiating face saying, “Is this the best you can do?”  Ha-ha.

Feeling Respectable

Although clothes can greatly enhance one’s confidence, it must start from within.   When I feel uncertain or scared about a decision or meeting I take time to explore why I’m feeling that way. Generally it’s for a nonsense reason like, “what will they think”?  Never let what they think become more important than what you think.  When I was younger I was taught to “fake it till you make it”.  There’s a grain of truth in that cliche because feeling 100% comfortable in your own skin is a life long work in progress.  Keep on truckin’!

These are my new favorite Kate Spade sunnies.  I love the black and pink design on the sides.  Also, when I have a lot of color in my blouse there are times I trade in my traditional red lippies for a lighter color.  Really enjoying this Bobbie Brown in Sandwash Pink.

When my day has been productive I’m happy.  Now it’s time for food!
