Basic tops are the starting place for updating your wardrobe. Something about spring motivates me to update my options. Basic tops are great transitional items; you can wear them alone or with layers. I’ve yet to hear anyone say they have too many basics.

Antrho Mock Neck Tee

For cooler spring days I pair my tops with jackets, sweaters, blazers or coats.  This Madewell denim jacket gets a “high five” for most worn.  I’d seriously be lost without it. I think my husband is convinced he needs one too.

Birthday W/ The Fam

I wore this outfit for my birthday dinner with the fam.  The top is Anthropologie’s  black Boat Neck tee.  I love the feel of the material, it’s really soft.

Zara Blazer & Madewell Jeans

We took a day trip to Myrtle Beach for brunch and some shopping.  I do love statement tees, however I choose ones that speak to me – that’s why they’re called “statement” tees.  Funny ones are good too.

Embracing The Midi Skirt

I consider tanks a “must have” basic.  I have several colors and brands and adore them all.  I wear them in the hot months and love them for date nights too.  There are many styles, but I prefer the ones with a bit of flair at the bottom.  These are gorgeous little tops that can be worn tucked in or out.

The following tops are either in my closet or on my wish list:

1. Anthropologie Mock Neck Layering Tee

2. J Crew Cami

3. Anthropologie Boat Neck

4.  Free People Sleeveless Turtleneck

5.  Anthropologie Easy Day Tank

6.  Resolve Enza Costa Jersey

7.  Urban Outfitters Satin Cami

8. Anthropologie V-Neck Shine Tee

I did not limit these basic tops to just your standard neutral colors.   Pink has become one of my new basics as it plays nicely with most colors.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please let me know if you have a favorite!

XO Cheryl
