We’ve found that it’s often more fun to visit a city during the week. Generally it’s less crowded and there are no lines for lunch. Monday was good for our schedules so off we flew on a day trip to Savannah, Georgia.
We landed at Signature Flight Support (FBO) and caught an Uber over to River Street. The river-front has a chain of squares with beautiful greenery and lots of park benches. If you’re so inclined you can hop on the Georgia Queen for a boat tour. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants in the historic warehouses that line the street. The delicious smells were hard to resist.
Dress anyone? I didn’t buy a dress, however, I found an awesome hat that must have been waiting for me.
We walked along River Street for a bit when we spotted a steep staircase leading up to the city. I was getting hungry (nothing new here) so up we went.
We didn’t have to walk far before we ran into Vic’s On The River. We were fortunate there was seating on the terrace. The weather was delightful and we could not have asked for better. If we ever visit in the summer I can promise you we’ll be sitting inside.
For a travel outfit I decided on these Zara trousers, H&M top and Michael Kors sandals. I knew the pants and top would be comfortable in the cockpit as well as tooling around the city. Since I wasn’t bringing my backpack I went with a larger bag to carry all my goodies. These Michael Kors sandals are old and I’ve had them resoled twice, but I’m still a fan. Plus they are so comfortable.
I obviously saw something of interest – I think it was Starbucks. There was a strawberry green tea in my immediate future.
That’s a wrap. We had a really good time and are already talking about a return visit in the fall. Next time we might stay over night so we can see more of this delightful city.
Thanks for stopping by!
