This Anthropologie sleeveless cowl neck maxi tunic has been around the seasonal block. I purchased it in early fall and have worn it often, always styling it differently. I love creating new looks – it’s like having a new outfit everyday. Warm weather’s arrival in Charleston provided the perfect opportunity to style this maxi tunic for summer.
Styling this, or any tunic, for summer is easy peasy. This one is all gray, which is not my best color. Therefore I needed to add some bold splashes, especially around my face. So red it was. I grabbed these J Crew red, brown and blue dangle earrings, with Zara red slides, Loewe red bag, Kate Spade sunnies and MAC Russian Red lips. I was ready to go.
If you were to count up all the items in your closet including shoes, bags, jackets, belts, scarves, socks, hats, sunnies and jewelry and do the math, I’m sure you would be amazed at how many different looks you could actually create. It would be mind-boggling. For example, one time you could wear your shirt tucked in with a belt and dangle earrings and next wear it out with hoops and a hat.

I’ve been on a proper undergarment kick and this dress is a great example of why it matters. The material calls for a smooth sailing look, eliminating many of the panties and bras in my wardrobe. So I chose a smooth, slightly padded bra and a pair of pettipants. Does anyone remember those? They’re not Spanx, yet look similar. Generally they are made from silk or nylon, which I find more comfortable, and resemble tight Bermuda length shorts. If you haven’t checked out my style tip “How To Rid The Butt Ugly Look From Workout Pants“, you really should. Butt ugly applies to more than just workout pants – trust me. I’ve had the misfortune to sport that look.
