Stripes & Cream Trousers For A Classic Look

Basics occupy more of my closet than anything else. They are the first things you should invest in to build a classic wardrobe.  Basics can pair with just about anything and are timeless.  For a classic work outfit I paired this Anthropologie stripe top, Mango cream trousers and Mango moccasins.

Some of the best summer basics are white button down shirts, crewneck tees, jean jackets, trousers, short sleeve or sleeveless turtleneck (similar to the one I’m wearing), slip on flats, denim pants, light-weight trench coats, and straw bags.  Although most of these items may be worn year round, they are great for expanding your summer wardrobe.  They can be mixed and matched with each other as well as other items in your closet.

Straw bags are trending again this season and I see this continuing.  It brings a fresh summer look to any outfit.  Unfortunately, this one is sold out, but I have found some cute alternatives here, here & here.  The J Crew sunnies provide both 100% UV protection and 100% cute factor.

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day. I took hubby out to brunch at Le Farfalle and then we headed to Brooks Brothers (one of his favorite stores) for gifts; summer tees and shirts. Our son (the only one that lives in Charleston) came over and helped cook his dad’s favorite dinner. Then the three of us watched West World, where the suspense continues!

Thanks for stopping by!

XO Cheryl
