More often than not we end up at The Art Institute when visiting Chicago. I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve gone and yet there is always something new to see. We grabbed our camera before heading out in hopes of getting a few shots. There is something magical about standing amongst great art pieces. This Oak + Fort jumpsuit paired with this Mango jacket (an art piece of its own) were the perfect duo.
Wanting to keep a monochromatic look, I paired the Oak + Fort jumpsuit and Mango jacket with my old Michael Kor sandals (I’ve resoled them twice), Coach bag and J Crew gold dangles. I’m glad I wore this jacket, as it was a tad chilly. Love was keeping these two warm.
The museum was crawling with people, more than I have ever seen. It made shooting pictures very challenging. We were always looking for a secluded area while trying to be respectful of the other visitors.
I love the thin ties that reveal an open back on this jumpsuit. The Mango jacket adds an art-like dimension to the look.
We were trying to catch the art in the background. It was very cool.
This beautiful oil painting caught my attention as it reminded me of the special bond between a mother and child – a mother’s love never ends.
When girly and I visit The Art Institute we often find ourselves sitting quietly entranced by our surroundings. I can’t say I have a favorite part of the Art Institute, but I am crazy about the oil paintings, especially the ones of people. Looking at them makes you feel like you might know them.
Have you been to the Art Institute? If so, do you have a favorite?
Wishing you a good day!
