I love a monochromatic look because it’s one of the easiest outfits to pull together. Yet, it’s the accessories that make the difference. This would be true for all outfits. A great look starts at the top and ends at the bottom; it’s the whole picture.
I decided gold was the color to accessorize this outfit, including jewelry and bag. I layered two necklaces, one with the initial C and the other, slightly longer, a coin pendant (this is a real gold coin my grandfather made into a pendant years ago). There are no rules on how many necklaces to layer; that’s a personal choice. I looked into my jewelry box and liked these Urban Outfitters drop earrings, because they were a tad smaller than some of my other choices. This Whiting and Davis bag is at least 28 years old and it’s the perfect size for holding lipstick and some money. When selecting a bag these days, I always choose one large enough to hold my phone. I like to know I can be reached in an emergency.
This Mango metallic knit top is a new addition and a bargain at $19.99. I loved it paired with these Mango ecru pleated crop trousers, which have been on repeat often. The combination is inexpensive (under $100 full price), yet is so rich. Keeping with the monochromatic theme I paired these Linea Paolo Crissy bow pumps to complete the look.
Quick and easy, I was ready for date night (we have a lot of those, no complaint here). The nice thing about this outfit, change the bag, add a blazer and off to work we could go.
For jewelry I’ve always been more of an earring person, but I’m enjoying this layered necklace look. It’s never to late to get outside your box and try new things.
Happy new week!
