I love basics, which are essential for any wardrobe, but nothing’s wrong with adding a little pizzazz. Wearing basics doesn’t have to be boring and no one said a basic style couldn’t be colorful. Just adding a few interesting accessories can take your basics to a whole new level.
For this look I paired a Mango button down flowy shirt with Free People crop trousers, Madewell Etta pumps, Mango suede belt, Mango tortoiseshell resin earrings and The Volon animal print bag. One thing to remember in creating a look, it doesn’t have to be matchy-matchy. These suede pumps are a spiced olive, which adds a slightly different hue to the mix. My animal print bag has various colors and textures adding a dimension of interest and fun to the outfit. However a solid colored bag would work as well.
This outfit, or a similar one, is ready for business and most daytime activities. It could easily go from work to meeting up with friends, colleagues or significant other. As a side note, this pic was taken in front of the old Kress & Co. building – a very charming landmark in downtown Charleston.
I love spending time downtown, especially in-between tourist seasons (they seem to come and go in waves). Dining at one of my favorite downtown restaurants is always a fun way to end the day. I’m really a foodie at heart, but I do try to keep it healthy.
Happy Friday!
XO Cheryl
