Feeling Nostalgic In Zara Plaid Wide Leg Pants

Anyone that grew up in the 60’s & 70’s is seeing fashion trend flash backs, albeit often with a new twist. There is something about these Zara plaid wide leg pants that transports me back to my youth. It was a time I felt fashion forward and ready to take on the world.

Today there was something both fun and exciting about slipping these Zara pants on.  It was a celebration of sorts, being thankful at how far I’ve come, yet even more excited to look ahead.   The opportunity to learn and be your best self is never ending. I say grab it!

Since going out with just these Zara plaid wide leg pants was not really an option, I decided to pair them with this White & Warren cashmere sweater (old), Madewell Portia metallic boots, silver earrings (vintage) and Botkier mini bag.  And I must not forget to mention my favorite Illesteva Isabella sunnies. I always say, “Never leave home without them.”

I read somewhere; if a fashion trend comes back around, you’re probably to old to wear it again.  I’m calling bullshit on that!.  Sometime back I wrote an article, “Age Appropriate” Dressing – The New Dinosaur.  It is my personal guide to fashion at any age. What are your thoughts on this?

These pants are far from a one-hit wonder.  They’re versatile and would look great with a blouse, button down shirt and cardigan, over-sized sweater or blouse and blazer.  The material has some stretch, making them very comfortable. They would also make a great work pant.

Yes, these Madewell Portia metallic boots have been on repeat, a lot. They’re hard not to love and are a great trendy boot for your closet.

Reflecting on the spirit of my youth, little seems to have changed. Perhaps the older I’ve become, the more I’ve realized a better world always begins from within.   Pointing a finger in blame never seems to get us anywhere, except a sore finger.

Keep your fingers safe and have a great week!

Cheryl
