Dancing In The Street

Dancing In The Street

I love to dance, mostly for no reason at all. I’ve never been able to decide which dance I prefer, because they’re all beautiful. Yet dancing in the street might be the most telling thing about me. It’s the best way I’ve found to express all the tender feelings I have way deep inside. It’s freeing and just sheer fun. So I’m going to dance my way through Christmas, with all the love and passion I can muster.

Dancing In The Street

I shopped my closet to create an outfit to fit my mood – energetic, passionate, with a spoonful of mischief.  I love to challenge myself to create something new from old items.  This Anthropologie halter dress has been on repeat several times, but not one look is the same.  I chose this J Crew black cashmere cardigan deciding to turn it around with the buttons in the back.  Since I had never worn this dress with these Sam Edelman sandals I grabbed them and added a pair of black anklets for fun.

I removed the tags before wearing this sweater in reverse so the “now front” would look smooth.

These BaubleBar Dulcinea Drop earrings are new this season and I’m enjoying them immensely.  Recently at dinner a woman stopped at my table saying she just had to know where I got them.  Leave the socks at home if you want to take this look from fun to elegant.  You could also wear the sweater with the buttons in the front and expose the ruffle top.  Just keep an open mind when you search your closet – you may find so many “new” options.

Dancing In The Street

Dancing from our heart is always a good thing.  I’ve always been the black sheep of the family, a bit of a rebel.  Even so, it’s taken years for me to be comfortable flying my freak flag, dancing in the street and wearing what I damn well please.  My best advice to you, don’t wait to dance…
