Christmas is here and it’s time to let the stress melt away. This is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s a day to be thankful for all the large and small blessings in our lives. Some may have to look harder than others, but we all have something to be thankful for.
Since we do not have extended family in Charleston we’ll hang around the house in pj’s for a good part of the day. We start the morning sitting near the tree, fireplace going and coffee in hand. We go around the family circle opening one present at a time. This ritual takes a while (and we wouldn’t do it any other way), so we drink lots of coffee, eat Godiva chocolates and gummy bears before our traditional big breakfast. For the last several years our son has volunteered to make breakfast and I’m okay with that. ☺
These traditions change as our children age and acquire their own family responsibilities. It already has begun for us All good things must end. The good news is those changes make room for other wonderful traditions to begin.
From our family to yours, we wish you a day filled with love, family and much joy.
Merry Christmas and I’m thankful for you!
