For years we’ve been told that every woman needs a little black dress and for good reason. We all dread that up-coming event with nothing to wear.  Even worse, is buying something in a rush that you don’t really love. Having that LBD in your closet eliminates all that stress. The perfect LBD can easily be dressed up or down depending on the event. When I spotted this Gal Meets Glam dress, I knew it was the one.

When choosing that perfect LBD I try to buy a simple, classic style. I find the simpler the design the more versatile the dress. Only after years of wear do I retire it and update my closet with a new one. For a change of pace I decided on this Gal Meets Gal feminine skater design rather than a pencil style. I love the neckline and this style is complimentary for most body types.

Another reason I love the LBD is you can pair it with any color shoes, bags or accessories.  A patterned or colorful shoe and bag is a great option for giving the dress a slightly casual, playful look. This might be a great way to step out for an afternoon wedding, graduation or dinner with friends. My two favorite colors for dressing up are black or white, because they are the most chic. Since I love mixing black and white I paired this Gal Meets Glam dress, with these Tabitha Simmons slingbacks, Botkier mini bag and Zara earrings (sold out – here’s a pretty option).

The elegant neckline is one of my favorite features of this dress. It’s one of those necklines that gives you the option of adding a neckpiece or not – either way it’s a winner.

Since it was cold I wrapped myself in this French Connection faux fur (sold out, but similar here).  If you’re looking for a faux fur coat, now is the time to buy as most of them are on sale.  For a list of some of my favorites click here.

You will be seeing this LBD on repeat.  For a summer afternoon lunch, or meandering down the city streets I’ll pair this Gal Meets Glam dress with sandals and a sunhat.  How cute would that be?

Until next time…
