Charleston alternates between unseasonably warm or cold and damp in the winter, although we rarely get snow. It was a cold day so I grabbed my Urban Outfitters’ faux fur when I had the chance. For a bit of fun I decided to mix textures and patterns. This is a great way to make individual items more interesting when paired.
This Urban Outfitters faux fur is one of the most versatile ones I own. The color and style can easily be worn for dress-up or casual. It’s currently on sale and available in all sizes. This is the time to buy, because faux furs are here to stay.
For a change of pace I layered some old long necklaces and added big hoop earrings. I tend towards statement earrings, but the necklaces already added charm to the outfit. Try digging around in your jewelry box; it’s amazing what you may find.
For my outfit I combined this Mango brown ribbed turtleneck, Anthropologie velvet wide leg pants (old), but similar here, Madewell Etta pumps, and Dooney and Bourke small satchel (old), (cute option here). If you’re looking for an updated basic pump these Madewell ones are very nice. They pair great with pants, jeans and dresses.
On a side note: This Donney and Bourke bag is actually our daughter’s. When she moved to Chicago I told her I’d take good care of it until she wanted it back. Using things that remind me of her always brings a smile as I think of all the things I love about her.
As I always say, “Do not leave home without your sunnies!”
